Dr. Neubauer has successfully enhanced the performance of anti-spin rubbers for blocking close to the table. With the introduction of plastic balls, which generate significantly less spin, achieving strong spin reversal has become more difficult. However, the Tarantula anti-spin rubber excels at delivering maximum spin reversal with these modern balls. Unlike many other frictionless anti-spin rubbers, Tarantula enables very short blocks with a low bounce, making it difficult for opponents to follow up with an effective attack. It also performs well against fast topspin shots and flat hits, producing a distinct sinking effect on the ball. Tarantula is highly versatile and can be used on both traditional combination blades and fast, stiff offensive blades. This flexibility comes from its dampening sponge, which absorbs the speed of incoming shots and effectively kills their momentum. The rubber is available with dampening sponges in three thicknesses: 1.2 mm, 1.5 mm, and 1.8 mm. The 1.8 mm version offers the highest level of control and the slowest speed, while the 1.2 mm version delivers the strongest spin reversal. The 1.5 mm option provides a balanced combination of control, speed, and spin reversal.
